Jay McGinnis is an Army veteran and cofounder of the Valhalla Sailing Project. After serving in the military as a medic with Special Forces and later as a Physician Assistant, Jay found healing in sailing. We talk about his time in service, his own 5-pillar framework that helped him become the person he wanted to be, and the amazing work he is doing by helping veterans find camaraderie out on the water.

Co-Founder | Valhalla Sailing ProjectJay is the co-founder and current executive director of the Valhalla Sailing Project in Annapolis, Maryland. After retiring from the Army in 2013, Jay earned his doctoral degree in Human and Organizational Learning from George Washington University where he conducted research examining individual resilience among emergency medicine physician assistants. In addition to his work with Valhalla, he is a public speaker, educator, researcher, and competitive sailor.
