Michael “Top” Washington is a Marine Corps veteran, firefighter, and Gold Star father. After his son, a fellow Marine, was killed in action in Afghanistan, Top nearly took his own life, but was reminded that his mission was not yet over. He now helps other veterans and first responders with their mental health as a licensed therapist. We talk about his time in service, the turning point in his own mental health journey, and the importance of having a “wingman” in times of crisis.
