Angel Hughes is a former Coast Guard pilot and the co-founder of Sisters of the Skies. After thirteen years in the aviation field, Angel noticed there were still only a handful of black female pilots, so she created an organization that is committed to diversifying the skies through mentorship, professional development, outreach and scholarships. We talk about her time in the Coast Guard, the importance of having a mentor, and why representation matters.

Angel served 11 years in the Coast Guard before going on to create Sisters of the Skies. After her military service, she became a cargo pilot for a major cargo airline.
